Musing in my tent, the oft heard expression “an area the size of Wales” may be misunderestimated because it is so hilly. If it was all straightened out flat, it’s square mileage would be much bigger. I loved living here in and around Aberystwyth. Nice to be back, albeit only for a couple of days. Mattered tuffocks of mid Welsh roots, these nooks, folds conceal much society. Yesterday I was a guest at Mr Dragon’s home, way up impossibly steep and endlessly winding tracks, above the estuary at Ynyslas. Today I’m off to Llandre.
