I was overjoyed to find that some kindly soul had placed a very short plank exactly where I wanted to find one in the floor yesterday. It wasn’t nailed down either. Today I hope to find a second short plank in another precise spot.
Spent some time this morning searching for the origin of the expression, “as thick as two short planks”, without success. Anyone know?
