About Scrapper

I’ve been a philosopher, a fire-eater and a barrister (I don’t practise any more). Rather than having a career, I seem to have careered through life instead! I was bred in Brighton, having been brought there at the age of 18 months. I was educated in local schools, including Varndean when it was still mostly a girls’ school. I’ve been away and come back. By the way, my full name is Duncan Roy.

I enjoy chess, mountaineering, cycling, techie stuff and have been fairly described as a pleasure monkey. I used to enjoy politics but now regard it as a necessary burden.

Check out my video channels. Here’s my pictorial cv:

  1. You say you attended Varndean when it was a girls’ school. You do mean the boys’ school? I went to Varndean Girls’ and don’t recognise you with your beard!

Varndean was going co-educational when I attended. I was in the second year of intake of boys, when the school was overwhelmingly a girl’s school. The point was intended to be humour.
