matthew is it wise to announce that on the internet? as alternative manoevering may then take place. the surest way to remove the greens would be an agreement between labour and the consertives backed by an outside force in the community. the time for that was during the council tax rise debates in 2012 where some greens actually didnt want to remain in power if they couldnt pass the budget unamended. i dont see how labour and the torys can form an agreement now with the implications for national politics it would represent. the only way out of this equal pay saga i can see is for the council to take the power back off the officers and for a post consultation negotitation between the greens, labour and the unions on a deal.

I've published your deliberately offensive comment despite it breaching my comments policy because it is representative of a number of comments made along similar lines.

Walking speeds vary between 2 and 5 miles an hour.

I'm not rich. I just started a job which involves driving all over Brighton & Hove, to collect waste cooking oil for The Big Lemon, which uses it to fuel its buses. It isn't hard to slow down to 20mph in our city, it is easy, so long as you can control your vehicle and your emotions. If you can't, you shouldn't drive.

I'm currently working on a private scheme to catch people breaking the new law and have them prosecuted. That will provide you with an extra incentive!

The rich wanker who wrote this article is an absolute moron with no brains. I take it he doesn't drive anywhere as he would be a bit more understanding about sticking a 20mph speed limit in a major city where no one gives a fuck about it and will break it regardless. 30mph is just right in Hove and Brighton, any slower would be ridiculous. Everyone who drives understands how hard it is to stick to a speed like this - especially seeing as most people walk faster.

Thanks for your comment. No need to shout individual words though.

"<em>The lack of wisdom and understanding displayed ...</em>" Wisdom's got nothing to do with this. That's just a poor quality rhetorical device. If you're going to accuse me of deceit however, that's a different matter. Are we to take your word for your claims? Links to hard evidence would be good. It seems unlikely that you're going to be able to find any for the ancient Israelite's preferred choice of rocks. Most importantly people at the time of its temporary hiding seemed to think the Scottish Stone of Destiny looked pretty much the same as after.

A coronation oath in England cannot be a contract of any kind. It could in Scotland. Just wanting that to be true does not make so. Even if you want it to be true so bad that it hurts. Are you in pain?

Breach of contract does not invalidate anything. It entitles those who the breach is against to a series of remedies, which is mostly claimed as cash compensation. The contract persists unless it is a breach of a fundamental term of the contract and the injured party wishes to end the contract as a consequence. Again, just because you want the law to be what you want, that doesn't make it so. You can't link to up to date legal text books to justify your wild claim because it is a load of bollocks.

As for your last paragraph, you seem to have trailed off? Well, good luck with your crappy life.
